Invited to deliver a keynote presentation at the Smart Buildings and Sustainability Leaders Forum 2024, held at The Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham, on 26 September 2024. The talk, titled 'When Virtual Meets Actual: Development and Deployment of Digital Twins for Buildings', was delivered as part of the CIBSE Intelligent Buildings session and covered the importance of Digital Twins for buildings and infrastructure operation and maintenance, common pitfalls in Digital Twin projects, examples of successful IoT sensor implementation, and ongoing research at Birmingham City University. The forum brings together the construction, technology and facilities management supply chains to share best practice and discuss how new technologies can support the delivery of net zero targets. The invitation was made by Dr Geoff Archenhold, Conference Co-Chair, in coordination with the CIBSE Intelligent Buildings session co-chair.
