• I’ll explore the tyranny of ‘tidy’ in research practice and dissemination, and the pressures, on academics wanting to ‘succeed’ in academia, to impose linearity and order on our work • I’ll use examples of my creative research dissemination work to explore ways of engaging with ‘mess’ in research. • and as someone who constantly experiences a sense of not ‘fitting’ academic or disciplinary norms, I’ll consider the forms of resilience I’ve invoked, more or less successfully, in my own academic career to date.
