Reimagine EDI Symposium 2025

Activity: Talk or presentation typesOral presentation

Description

This year, our overarching themes were accessibility and inclusion, including - but not limited to - disability, neurodivergence, mental health and belonging. The event makes space to discuss and learn about these topics, and to consider how we can address and support them within our teaching, learning, and research activity within the ADM faculty and beyond.

Our keynote speaker, Dr Dominique Thompson, a multi-award winning GP,
mental health expert, TEDx speaker, author, and educator with more than 20
years of front line clinical and strategic experience. She is considered the
UK’s leading expert on student mental health - and so is well-placed to help us
better support and understand this important issue, with which we all come into
contact in our professional practice.

The symposium will also include a range of stimulating workshops for participants
to choose from, touching on a range of pertinent topics including:

·Neurodiversity & playful learning

·Staff health & wellbeing

·Performativity & belonging

·Supporting students in distress through Report & Support

·Project Zero update

The symposium concluded with a panel discussion.
