Docudrama on documenting war crimes and the holocaust. 3 performances, over 300-strong audience, at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle under Lyme. I translated original testimony by holocaust survivors (Jewish Greek women) -that had been documented in English by British military at the end of the Second World War- into Greek (the language in which the women would have given their testimony), and read it out during the performances.
In a time when war crimes are being committed in Gaza and in Ukraine, this testimony and this docudrama had a very powerful impact on the audience (which included schoolchildren, at the matinee) and the discussion that followed the play went way beyond the holocaust, to address more recent crimes we are all witnessing.
