Description of impact
Research and co-design activity has informed the development and implementation of inclusive sensory spaces within higher education. Working with neurodivergent students, the project identified priorities for sensory-friendly environments, including controllable sensory input, flexible resources, accessible use and inclusive approaches to governance and maintenance.The work has contributed to the development of dedicated provision designed to support sensory regulation, wellbeing, readiness to learn and participation in university life. The approach has also informed continuing work on inclusive learning environments and the development of sensory and calm-space provision across higher education settings.
