Research and Innovation interests
I am a reseacher in music education, with a special interest in music curriculum. I am particularly interested in how teachers think about their music curriculum in secondary schools, and they way they design their curricula as a result. I regular speak and publish in this area.
Teaching Interests
I currently supervise PhD research students in music education and music curriculum. In addition to this, I supervise Masters research projects in music education, and teach on wider Masters modules (e.g. assessment). I teach on the PGCE Music programme, also delivering sessions on music curriculum thinking.
Enterprise Interests
I value the opportunity to work with partners, delivering keynotes and CPD to a wide range of music education audiences. Music in schools matters and thinking and reflecting on it matters too.
