Research and Innovation interests
Dr. Bruce Philp is Head of College for the Graduate Management School at Birmingham City University. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester in the field of game theory and industrial organisation. At BCU Business School he has held various roles including Interim Head of School, Head of Research and Enterprise and Head of Department. Before he joined the BCU he was a senior lecturer, then principal lecturer, at Nottingham Business School. His current research interests are in the areas of the political economy of labour markets, the distribution of income, and productivity and he is an academic lead or supervisor on three Management KTP projects, funded by Innovate UK. In 2010-12 he served as Coordinator of the Association for Heterodox Economics, which is a international learned society based in the UK and Ireland.
