Research activity per year
Her research focuses on audience and fandom studies, with a focus on television studies, as well as players’ histories with and experiences of digital and analogue games. Her current project considers representations of video games in Chinese television dramas, exploring discourses about gaming’s social/cultural value, alongside the cultural policy context of Chinese media production. She co-leads the Game Cultures research cluster at the Birmingham Centre for Media and Cultural Research.
