Personal profile
Research and Innovation interests
With experience in research and practice in construction management and quantity surveying related fields, I am passionate about how improving the project management field by learning from past experiences. Particularly, learning from failures and how such experiences can improve the project delivery and management processes and related activities. E.g enhancing innovation by learning from failures. On a broader spectrum, research interests include organisational learning within construction project-based organisations, lean construction, project-related failures, building information modelling, health and safety and people management in construction.
Teaching Interests
With knowledge and experience in both academia and practice circa 15 years, I contribute to several modules across the built environment courses (construction management and quantity surveying) such as measurement, commercial management, people management, research methods (supervision of students both undergraduate and masters level); contract management, risk management etc.
Knowledge Transfer interests
Interested in enhancing organisational learning from failures among organisations within the sector; exploring digitalisation opportunities and challenges for small and medium scale contractors; the improvement of cost control and management systems using digital tools such as BIM; people related issues within construction such as health and safety. Supporting team members during a crisis or project failure.
Enterprise Interests
Interested in working with industry partners on delivering sustainability and efficiency in systems by learning from failure. Encourage leveraging innovation with lessons from failures and unexpected events.
Business Engagement interests
Open to collaborations (local and international) that encourage and adopt a socio-technical balanced approach in adopting digital tools in creating efficiencies within the construction industry.
