Hesham Ali is a senior lecturer in Management Accounting at Birmingham University Business School. He has PhD in the critical management accounting research from the University of Strathclyde Business School. Before he joined the business school, he was a lecturer, at Coventry Business School, University of Strathclyde and Assistant Lecturer in Accounting at Aswan University, Egypt. His current research interests are in the areas of the critical accounting research with minor focus on management accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
Hesham was working in the industry before joining academia where he was an investor relations analyst at Khodari Sons co. (listed construction company in Saudi Arabi) preceded by a Planning Analyst position at Vodafone Egypt.
Hesham has published papers in the of critical management accounting where focus on the issues related to the promotion of societal change.
