Research and Innovation interests
Professor Hussain joined the Birmingham City Business School in September 1990. He is on the editorial board of Journals and reviews papers for several international journal publications. He has contributed to successive 4 REFs and impact case studies. He has supervised to completions over 22 PhDs, examined internally 15 and externally over 29 PhDs. Professor Hussain hosts annual Entrepreneurial Finance conference ay BCU, in collaboration with ISBE, France and Ghana and presents papers at national and international conferences; he engages in research with colleagues from several other UK and international institutions. He has edited two books and has written numerous refereed journal articles, conference papers and has been nominated for prestigious national and international awards. Currently, he is researching with colleagues from various universities in the UK to examine transition for SMEs to green technology and finance, more specifically advancing the sustainability agenda with farmers in emerging economies.
