Research and Innovation interests
I am a Lecturer in Economics at Birmingham City University with expertise in applied economics, econometrics, and sustainable development. I recently completed my PhD in Economics at Nottingham Trent University (2025), where my research explored the relationship between foreign direct investment, economic growth, unemployment, and environmental policy across Europe.
With teaching experience at Birmingham City University, Nottingham Trent University, and Kaplan International, I have designed and delivered modules including Macroeconomics, Industrial Economics, Quantitative Methods, and Sustainable Development. I am also experienced in supervising students research projects and creating inclusive, engaging learning environments.
Beyond academia, I bring managerial and industry experience from the finance, energy, and retail sectors in Ghana, allowing me to connect theory with practice and enrich the classroom experience.
Recognised as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and recipient of awards such as the Vice Chancellor’s Postgraduate Scholarship and the Thinkubator Challenge Award, I am passionate about advancing knowledge, supporting student success, and contributing to solutions for global economic and sustainability challenges.
