Personal profile
Research and Innovation interests
Kwabena is a molecular microbiologist with expertise in antimicrobial resistance, microbial genomics, and applied microbiology. His research focuses on understanding how microbes evolve, acquire resistance, and persist across clinical and environmental settings, with particular relevance to global health challenges. In addition, he has a masters in theology and missions and is currently undergoing ministerial formation training. He is also actively developing research interfacing theology and science particularly concepts that impact human health and the environment. He leads and contributes to internationally collaborative projects spanning clinical and environmental microbiology, with a strong focus on translating scientific evidence into public-health action and improved laboratory practice. His technical expertise includes next-generation sequencing, genomic surveillance, molecular diagnostics, and bioinformatic analysis of microbial populations. He provides academic leadership and mentorship, supporting early-career researchers and strengthening research capacity across diverse settings.
