Dr Olanrewaju Lawal is a Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography at the Birmingham City University. His research focuses on understanding patients' behaviour towards medical imaging.
He completed a PhD in Medical Imaging at the University of Salford, Manchester. His thesis explored the behaviour of Nigerian women towards mammography screening.
He has published several papers in peer reviewed journals such as the Radiography, and the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences. He recently developed an intervention to help claustrophobic patients during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on MRI science and managing patient behaviour. He has used innovative approaches in teaching students medical imaging topics such as active learning, decoding the discipline model and problem-based learning.
Dr Olanrewaju is currently conducting a multidisciplinary study to develop an intervention to improve radiology outpatient attendance.
