Abstract
MONSTRA returned to big cinema in 2021, this time in the summer with a full program of animated films and premieres with Belgium as a guest country. A major retrospective dedicated to Belgian animation was central, where, among many others, the master Raoul Servais stands out. As usual, there was six competitions full of short and feature films, art and animation, from over a hundred countries. Live masterclasses, workshops and conversations with some of the greatest specialists in the art of moving image, music, filmmaking and creation. Animated creative archive documentary WILLIAM JEFFERSON WILDERNESS was featured in official selection.
