Abstract
This study explores the impact of organizational culture types on the adoption of green IT and the influence of national culture. A review of literature presents an insight into the research variables-Organizational culture and green IT adoption. The review points to organizational culture as an important factor for organization effectiveness and success of sustainability initiatives. It also describes the importance of green IT to an organization by identifying and explaining energy saving approaches and their benefits to bottom line (people, planet and profit). The research uses both Cameron and Quinn's Organizational culture Assessment Instrument and Green IT Maturity Assessment questionnaires to collect data about company culture and the level of green IT adoption respectively. Pearson-Product Correlation Coefficient and Regression analysis were used to test the relationship between the variables. The result indicated a strong relationship between organizational culture types and green IT adoption. It also showed that the relationship between these variables is similar across the survey sample countries (Nigeria and the UK).
