Action Space Revisited

Learning from Action Space and Action Space Mobile.
An exhibition and design response to the history of Action Space Mobile in Sheffield and their use of inflatables and playas temporary public art. The exhibition also has a screening of film maker Huw Wahl's documentary on Action Space's work and legacy over the decades.

Over the course of a year, research was conducted on Action Space Mobile's portfolio through their archive collection and recreating their inflatables to learn about the processes used to create public participation with the structures. The final results are displayed as part of the exhibition alongside inflatables created collectively.

The gallery will remain open for drop-in participatory workshop, inviting members of the public to recall stories of Action Space/Action Space Mobile events from their childhood, and what play spaces mean to the city today. Craft activities was planned to create collages, and stitch work which will form part of a new inflatable capturing these personal histories on play in the city and with Action Space.
