Barriers to Women Journalists in Sub-Saharan Africa

Barriers to Women Journalists identifies obstacles hindering women in sub-Saharan Africa from entering, progressing, and/or staying in journalism. The main objective of this study is to assess the status of women in journalism in sub-Saharan Africa. This report identifies a number of obstacles hindering women journalists, and locates possible strategies, responses and interventions that might increase the number of women journalists in sub-Saharan Africa, at various career levels.
