    Abstract

This chapter looks back at the 'post-war reconstruction era' dominated by 250+ advisory reconstruction plans and their conceptions of urban design. It explores a range of approaches to examine how the plans were formulated, disseminated and implemented; how they shaped contemporary urban landscapes; and how we can understand and evaluate the post-war urban landscape and use that knowledge in formulating new plans and urban designs.
