Abstract

'Different Islands' was a project supported by Sound and Music 'New Voices' (the UK's talent development programme for composers). The work was intended to explore the sound of an Old English poem through the medium of string quartet and live electronics. Collaboration with a choreographer and dancer enabled the text's themes to be explored through movement.
