Abstract
Both yoga and mindfulness are common activities that have been drafted into individual workplace programmes, as well as organisational-level interventions, as part of the wider plan to improve employees' physical and mental health. While such interventions cannot address all of the potential issues contributing to (coping with) sources of work stress and the impacts, they may certainly appear to have sufficient benefits to make them worth considering by all types of organisations. This chapter reviews a range of mindfulness-based practices, including yoga, meditation, and corporate mindfulness. Whilst being distinct practices and concepts, they also share some core aims and similarities. The potential benefits of such practices in the workplace (as well as outside of the workplace), such as stress reduction, wellbeing improvement, relationships, symptom management and functioning will be considered, along with potential barriers and challenges, as well as the effective implementation of such interventions in workplaces.
