Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges - Symphonie Concertante Op. VI, No. 1, in C: version for two solo violins, two oboes, two horns and strings

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

Part of the Schott Saint-Georges Edition (editor - Christopher Dingle), this performing edition of the Symphonie Concertante Op. VI, No. 1 has been created from the contemporary set of parts for the opus VI works, published as a set by Bailleux, probably in 1775. They were collectively titled 'Simphonies Concertantes OEuvre VI' with the individual works being called 'Sinfonia I' and Sinfonia II' respectively. As with most instrumental music by Saint-Georges, no manuscript or published score survives from the composer's lifetime. It is supplemented by material on Research Catalogue and is a partner to the critical edition of the work published as a study score by Eulenburg (forthcoming).
