Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Symphonie Op. XI, No.1

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

Part of the Schott Saint-Georges Edition (editor - Christopher Dingle), this scholarly performance score of the Symphonie Op. XI, No.1 has been created from the contemporary set of parts for the ‘Deux Sinfonies à pleusieurs instruments composée par Mr de St George [sic] et executés au Concert de Mrs les Amateurs, Œuvre XI’ which were published by La Chevardière in 1778. As with most instrumental music by Saint-Georges, no manuscript or published score survives from the composer’s lifetime. It is supplemented by material on Research Catalogue and is a partner to the critical edition of the work published as a study score by Eulenburg (forthcoming).
