P396 Evaluating the effectiveness of mindful eating practices (CFMEPs) in supporting identified goals of self-regulation of eating behaviours in an adult cohort of people with cystic fibrosis

    Abstract

    Objectives: To evaluate efficacy of CFMEPs in supporting goals in eating behaviours, to measure changes in eating behaviours pre and
    post interventions, to evaluate the usability of CFMEPs. Methods: N=17 participants, six male, (data collection is ongoing), completed the Dutch Eating
    Behaviour Scale a 33-item scale assessing emotional, restrained and external eating, and the Mindful Eating Behaviour Scale measuring mindful eating
    behaviours. Participants accessed four mindful eating tools developed specifically for people with CF hosted on YouTube to use over four weeks and they
    received a weekly prompt email. At four weeks participants complete the scales again and an evaluation of the resources. Results: Fifteen participants
    were taking HEMT, eight reported weight gain since starting treatment (1.5-30 kg) and two weight loss (5, 20 kg). Initial results show that aims for using
    mindful eating practices were to eat more healthily (76%), to lose weight (53%), to decrease the amount of some foods eaten (41%), t
