Abstract
This article was part of an ongoing research project called Socially Distant Stories from Beyond the Screen, which was a creative approach to research that put to work a hybrid Theatre in Education (TiE) methodology in two Initial Teacher Education (ITE) settings. The project as a whole attempted to consider the challenging implications and positive opportunities of the ‘pandemic context’ on the educational experiences of secondary trainee teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as they prepared to enter the teaching profession. As part of this research process, the project particularly sought to explore the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the professional identity and practice of those training for the teaching profession.
