    Funding

    Business School, where she is also in charge of a EU-FP7 project, researching Chinese FDIs in Europe. Before joining academia, she worked as an economist and statistician, and as a trade diplomat for Italian missions abroad. She spent seven years as a trade commissioner in East Asia, based in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China. She also obtained from the City University of Hong Kong a PhD in International Relations and Security Studies. She has received fellowships and grants from a number of funding bodies, including the HEA, EU, UK Sasakawa Foundation and KIEP (Korean Institute for Economic Policy). Her research interests include strategic materials and security, international relations, regional trade integration and quantitative methods for social sciences.
