Abstract
This paper explores the work of Natuf collective, a Chilean theatre company that brings together practitioners from Palestinian and Jewish backgrounds. The company’s first production, El Círculo (The Circle, 2019) – which was performed live and online – begins with the figure of an astronaut who invites the audience to contemplate the Earth from afar and focus on the struggles of a group of cross-community actors trying to put on a play. In their second piece, La Música de Diana (Diana’s Music, 2024), Natuf also deals with Chile’s own historical past by mourning one of the ‘disappeared’ during the military dictatorship through the Jewish ritual of Shiva.
