note = "Funding Information: The Highlands Close is a new-build low-rise local authority housing estate comprising a total of 46 dwellings on Crouch Hill, Islington, N. London. The solar heating system serves eight one-bedroom flats with space heating and domestic hot water (DHW) heating, and a further seven three-bedroomed houses with DHW mainly during the summer months. A view of the terrace of seven houses with the collectors integrated into their roofs is shown in Figure 1; the solar heated flats are in the building to the left of these houses. The scheme was funded by the CEC Energy Directorate XVII, the London Borough of Islington and the Polytechnic of Central London (PCL) with help from the London Energy and Employment Network (LEEN). The system was designed by two of the present authors (D. Boyd and J. B. Thring) under the technical direction of R. G. Maw and in association with David Ford Associates.
