    Abstract

    The chapter provides an introduction to the contents of the volume "Money Law, Capital, and the Changing Identity of the European Union" (ed. by G. Gimigliano and V. Cattelan, 2022, Hart Publishing).
    It deals with the notion of money as a societal institution, and how value and change are related to the evolution of the European Union as a polity, with particular reference to the most recent dynamics of evolution of the global financial market.
