    Abstract

Hospitality like many industries is looking to both automation and innovations such as artificial intelligence to resolve many of the issues it currently faces, from staffing to customer retention. But have the challenges of data ethics, from privacy to digital exclusion been adequately considered? This paper presents an initial review of the literature to identify which areas of data ethics have been incorporated into hospitality technology and whether this takes account of the need for welcome.
