Abstract
Abstract- This paper presents the design, simulation and experimental results of a triboelectric energy harvester integrated with voltage conversion circuit based on contact mode operation. Triboelectric energy harvester converts mechanical vibrations into electrical energy via a phenomenon known as ‘triboelectric effect’ which is a type of contact electrification whereby certain materials become electrically charged when they come into fricative contact with different material. An experimental triboelectric energy harvester has been implemented via a material format of polyimide-aluminium bonded with conductive aluminium material using pressure sensitive adhesive. The measured results have been critically evaluated and compared with the theoretical model. The measured results show the peak power density of 3.2 W/m2 at the load resistance of 60 MΩ.
